Thank you for your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, received 26 September 2019. Your request has been considered and our response is in bold below.
You requested the following:
I hereby request information under Section 1(1) of the FOIA. I request that you to kindly provide me with all of the following Planning information: 1. a. How many planning applications were submitted for Coliving (Co-living) Use since January 2017 b. How many of these applications were granted permission. 2. a. How many planning applications were submitted for Shared Living Accommodation Use - Sui Generis (other terms: Shared Living Units, Accommodation with shared amenities) with the number of units above 100 units, since January 2015 b. How many of these applications were granted permission 3. a. How many planning applications were submitted for Serviced Apartments Use (C1) with number of units above 100 units since January 2015 b. How many of the above applications were granted permission. 4. All the councils meeting minutes, consultation / research documentation and strategic information in respect of Co- Living developments. For the avoidance of doubt, in respect of 1 - 3 above, the information should include: - The applicant’s details (insofar that they are already in the public domain) - The number of units applied for per applicant or information / data that will enable me to ascertain the same. I require all and any information held by your organisation regarding my request. I respectfully confirm that under the Act I do not have to specify particular files or documents and it is your responsibility to provide the information I require.
The Council’s Response
In relation to your request regarding Co-living and Shared living spaces in Hackney, we can confirm that, the information you have requested is exempt under Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act.
Section 21 (2a) states that information which is reasonably accessible to the applicant (even if it is accessible only on payment) is exempt. In this instance, the information is available and is exempt by virtue of Section 21 (2a) of the Freedom of Information Act.
