Hazardous Chemicals (FOI-5080)
Message from Hackney Council
Dear ***** *****
Re: Freedom of Information Request.
Thank you for clarification of your initial request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, received 19 December 2019. Your request has been considered and our response is in bold below.
You requested the following:
1) How many sample products were analysed for hazardous chemicals in each of these years: 2017, 2018, 2019.
5) How many prosecutions were made in each of these years, following the presence of a hazardous chemical over legal limits.
Clarification - some councils test consumer products for the presence of hazardous chemicals. These could incude cadmium, boron, phthalates, etc. I"m looking for the presence of chemicals in consuemr products which were found to be over legal limits. There are some examples in the excel doc attached to the initial email - perhaps just use these to search against?
The Council’s Response
We can confirm that our Trading Standards Service have not conducted and carried out tests on any hazardous chemicals.
