Hackney Council have an Alcohol Strategy with 4 priorities, one of them being to support families, carers, and young people affected by alcohol misuse
Yes, Young Hackney substance misuse service employs a Hidden Harm worker who works with children affected by parental substance misuse. In addition, Hackney Recovery Service (the adult service) has a Children and Families Worker who supports parents, but also has a focus on parental needs assessments and identifying children living with substance using parents who may benefit from support.
Finally, the Hackney Recovery Service has recently been recommissioned. The new integrated City and Hackney service will go live on 1 October 2020, and there will be an enhanced Family and Carer service, which includes additional resource in Hidden Harm engagement and delivery.
