Your Severe Weather Emergency Protocol
If any provisions are included in the SWEP for warm weather (if not could you please indicate if there are any plans to do so in the future)
The Council’s Response
1. Your Severe Weather Emergency Protocol
‘Hackney Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) 2019’ attached for reference
- If any provisions are included in the SWEP for warm weather (if not could you please indicate if there are any plans to do so in the future)
In terms of hot weather SWEP - we work to the principle that the protocol is designed to safeguard life, so we focus more on the interventions that protect people from excessive hot weather. Currently, this is to use the facilities at the Greenhouse on Mare Street to get respite in the shade, have access to water and a shower. We are looking to develop this further using partnerships with our voluntary sector colleagues, but this is a work in progress.
