Re: Freedom of Information Request.
Thank you for your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, received 6 November 2018. Your request has been considered and our response is in bold below.
You requested the following:
I read with interest the recent Brexit statement issued by Hackney Council https://hackney.gov.uk/brexit As there are over 41,000 EU27 nationals in the Borough and as many are eligible to take part in local elections, I hereby request to know the number of elected councillors who are from the EU, either in the current council following this year’s elections, or the previous administration before the elections. I was hoping to be given the overall number, not nationality or names, and I am happy to receive the information by email.
The Council’s Response
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 directs local authorities to confirm whether or not requested information is held:
1) Any person making a request for information to a public authority is entitled -
(a) to be informed in writing by the public authority whether it holds information of the description specified in the request, and
(b) if that is the case, to have that information communicated to him.
We would like to confirm that the information you requested is not held by the London Borough of Hackney.
