Freedom of Information request - Operation Grip (FOI-1887)
Customer
Good afternoon
I am seeking information in relation to a recent trading standards operation.
First of all, is your trading standards function undertaken by
London Trading Standards
?
Did your authorities trading standards take part in Operation Grip (a joint tyre safety operation in partnership with London Trading Standards and Tyre Safe, see link below)
http://www.londontradingstandards.org.uk/news/74-of-used-tyres-failed-to-meet-safety-standards/
If you did take part in Operation Grip, please could I have the answers to the following questions :
- How many tyres were checked?
- How many tyres were found to be defective or deemed unsafe?
- What are considered to be
Tyre Marking
defects?
- Were the tyre fitting centres / businesses visited during this operation targeted based on intelligence or were they randomly spot checked?
Yours sincerely
