The Council’s Response
Hackney has been successful in securing £45.5 million in grant funding through the BCHfL programme. The funding will be granted on the basis of the delivery of the following homes:
- 299 homes for social rent;
- 314 homes for shared ownership with starts on site by March 2020;
- 133 homes for shared ownership with starts on site by March 2022.
Within the BCHfL programme timeframe, Hackney will also be delivering 203 homes for social rent for which we were seeking additional borrowing headroom. These homes have therefore been included in Hackney’s numbers (as nil grant) as Hackney will be applying Right to Buy receipts rather than BCHfL grant to these units.
